Legal formalities should not come with mystery invoices. Every fee below is flat, quoted before you book, and charged exactly as posted; the only figures you will not find here are hidden ones. All fees are subject to HST.

How can I pay?
Debit, credit, and Interac e-Transfer, at the office or on site for mobile visits. Receipts are issued for every transaction; businesses receive invoices with HST detail for their records.
Why flat fees instead of hourly billing?
Because notarial work is finite and predictable, and pricing should be too. You are buying a defined act: an oath administered, a seal applied, a copy certified. Charging by the hour for that would reward slowness, and vague from” pricing rewards surprise. Flat fees keep the incentive where it belongs, on doing careful work efficiently, and they let you compare my posted numbers against anyone else’s before you spend a dollar.

Why do you charge more than the cheaper signs I see online?
Because you are buying different things. The fee here covers a licensed lawyer’s review of your document before it is sealed, together with the accountability that comes with regulation by the Law Society of Ontario. Many clients book precisely because a document was rejected once already and they want a trained eye on it before trying again.
Is there a fee just to ask whether you can help?
No. Text a photo of your document to 647-717-3222 or email info@notarybylawyer.ca; confirming what you need and quoting it costs nothing.
Do prices change for urgent same-day requests?
No rush premiums during business hours. Only the posted after-hours surcharge applies outside them.
What if my document turns out to need something extra?
Then I tell you before doing it, with the price, and you decide. Nothing is added to a bill unannounced.
Will you match a lower price I found?
No, respectfully. These fees reflect a lawyer’s review on every document and are set where careful work is sustainable. If a stamp alone is truly all you need, another provider may serve you fine, and I would rather say that than win a race to the bottom.
