Toronto
You book a window, I confirm a flat Zone 3 travel fee of $99 plus normal document fees, and I come to you with everything needed. Downtown, I typically arrive by transit or park nearby, so no parking games in your building are required. Concierge instructions and unit numbers in the booking notes keep things smooth. Most visits, one signer and a couple of documents, take under half an hour.
Only the commissioning kind. If your document is an affidavit or statutory declaration and your recipient accepts remote commissioning, we complete it by secure video and you never leave your condo. If it needs a notarial seal, a certified copy or an apostille, Ontario requires in-person, wet-ink completion, so it is a mobile visit or a trip to Mississauga. When you send the document ahead, I will tell you plainly which category it is in.
Toronto is more than the core, and so is the coverage. Etobicoke sits in Zone 2, which makes mobile visits there notably economical, while Scarborough, East York and York are full Zone 3 territory with the same day-or-next scheduling as downtown. Clients near the western edge, Islington, Kipling, Long Branch, often find the drive to my Mississauga office shorter than crossing town, and choose the office rate instead.
For a single quick seal, maybe not, and I will happily say so. Where the trip or the mobile fee earns its keep is anything with consequences: overseas property packages, sworn evidence for court, apostille bundles, documents a bank has already rejected once. Clients come here for a lawyer who reads first and stamps second.
Downtown generates its own species of documents: sworn declarations for OSC and FSRA filings, officer certificates for lenders, certified corporate records for due diligence rooms, statutory declarations for construction draws under the prompt payment regime, and notarized forms for professional licensing bodies headquartered in the core. These arrive with strict formatting and dated deadlines, and they suit my practice well: send the package ahead, I mark what needs correcting, and the signing itself takes minutes whether at your tower or my office.
